New Feature for the MTurk Marketplace

Workers can now see Requester activity level, approval rate and average payment review time.

One of the things we have heard from Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) Workers is that they want more transparency around Requesters on the marketplace. The MTurk Worker site has always provided basic Requester information that Workers use to decide whether they want to accept and work on a HIT.

In order to provide Workers with more information, we have launched a new feature that enables Workers to view a set of Requester metrics to help them make decisions about which tasks they want to accept. Workers can now view Requester metrics and select HITs based on the HIT approval rate, activity level and average payment review time. These Requester metrics will be visible for each individual HIT on the MTurk Worker Site.

Workers can click through the Requester metric overview to see current HIT activity for that Requester.

Activity level will be displayed as ‘High’, ‘Medium’, or ‘Limited’ based on the number of HITs submitted by a given Requester. The HIT approval rate is the average across all HITs submitted. The average payment review time is calculated as the difference between when a HIT is submitted and when it is approved by the Requester across all HITs submitted by that requester. Please note that we will only include Requester metrics from the last two years.

The visibility of Requester metrics within the MTurk Worker Site will help reduce the amount of time that Workers spend researching information about the Requesters they work for and enable them to stay focused and complete their tasks more efficiently.
