Amazon Mechanical Turk Workers in 25 countries outside of the US can now transfer their earnings to bank accounts

Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is excited to announce new functionality that enables MTurk Workers in 25 countries outside of the US to transfer their earnings to a bank account. Thousands of eligible Workers who complete hundreds of thousands of tasks on MTurk each week, can now receive direct deposit of their earnings to their US bank account. Workers who don’t have US bank accounts have an option of obtaining a virtual US bank account through a 3rd party payee service provider of their choice, including Hyperwallet. Workers can create a Hyperwallet account and specify a bank account based in their home country to receive their deposits.

Until now, Workers located outside of US earned rewards in the form of Amazon.com gift cards. While Amazon.com gift cards are valuable, international Workers have expressed that they would prefer to receive earnings in their local currency. Workers in the US can already disburse earnings to bank accounts and Workers from other countries have indicated that they would like to have a similar option.

Now eligible Workers can enroll in direct deposit in addition to receiving their earnings as Amazon.com gift cards. To enroll, Workers need to verify the US bank account into which they want to deposit earnings. After successful enrollment, Workers can transfer their earnings to the specified bank account using the Transfer Earnings feature on the Worker website. Eligible Workers will be notified by MTurk via email to start the enrollment process. Countries supported for Hyperwallet include Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
